David Del Valle – Commentary, Books & Disc Extras

David Del Valle began contributing writing and interviews on horror and classic Hollywood cinema in the 1970s, later becoming a widely recognized commentator on cult and fantasy film genres. His articles and interviews have appeared in publications including Cinefantastique, Fangoria, Video Watchdog, Scarlet Street, Films and Filming, and other genre-focused outlets. He has also appeared as a commentator and interview subject for television networks and documentary productions devoted to horror and cult cinema.

Del Valle is especially associated with classic horror cinema, Vincent Price, American International Pictures, and mid-century genre filmmaking. As producer and host of the television interview series Sinister Image, he conducted conversations with actors, filmmakers, and cult cinema personalities including Vincent Price, Russ Meyer, and Cameron Mitchell. His work preserving interviews and production history has made him a familiar presence in physical media special features and documentary retrospectives.

Alongside his commentary and documentary appearances, Del Valle has written books including Lost Horizons Beneath the Hollywood Sign and Six Reels Under. He was inducted into the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards’ “Monster Kid Hall of Fame” in 2016 in recognition of his long-standing contributions to horror film scholarship and appreciation.
