Film Synopsis
Bluebeard (1972) centers on a decorated World War I pilot whose marriages repeatedly end in the deaths of his wives under suspicious circumstances. As his newest bride begins uncovering traces of his past while political unrest and personal obsessions intensify around his estate, hidden acts of violence and manipulation threaten to expose the carefully maintained image he presents to society. This Italian-French-West German gothic horror thriller centers on concealed brutality beneath aristocratic privilege, as suspicion closes in, with sexual obsession, fascist influence, and murderous compulsion.
