Synopsis
The Last Man on Earth (1964) follows a scientist who lives alone in a deserted city after a devastating pandemic wipes out most of the human population. By day he searches abandoned streets for infected victims and works toward understanding the disease, while by night he barricades himself against attacks from the undead creatures that once were human. This Italian-American science fiction horror film blends post-apocalyptic isolation, vampire mythology, and Cold War era anxieties about global catastrophe.
