Film Synopsis
The Tomb of Ligeia (1964) portrays a brooding widower living amid the ruins of an English abbey, where memories of his first wife continue to govern his life. After he remarries, a series of unsettling events raises the possibility that the past exerts more than a psychological hold over the household. This Gothic horror film turns grief and romantic obsession into a haunting struggle between the living and the dead, shaped by Roger Corman’s evocative use of English locations and Vincent Price’s restrained performance.
