Something Weird Video was founded in Seattle in 1990 by Mike Vraney, building an extensive home-video catalogue devoted to exploitation, horror, sexploitation, drive-in films, and other overlooked corners of cult cinema. Drawing from rare 16mm and 35mm elements, the label helped preserve and circulate the work of filmmakers including Herschell Gordon Lewis, Doris Wishman, David F. Friedman, Harry Novak, and others whose films were often difficult to see.
