Film Synopsis
A Smell of Honey, a Swallow of Brine (1966) centers on a young woman who takes pleasure in seducing men before accusing them of sexual assault. As her manipulations leave increasingly serious consequences in their wake, she continues her cruel games with little regard for the lives she damages. This exploitation drama combines sexual provocation, psychological cruelty, and melodrama with stark black-and-white photography in a distinctive example of the 1960s roughie cycle.
