Film Synopsis
The Wild, Wild World of Jayne Mansfield (1968) follows the globe-trotting travels of a Hollywood blonde icon as she visits European cities and American locales, encountering strip clubs, nudist colonies, drag bars, and other sensational settings. As the camera tracks these excursions and intercuts retrospective clips of her film and magazine appearances, posthumous footage of her fatal car accident and home tour gives the project an eerie, exploitative edge. This mondo documentary blends travelogue, sensationalism, and celebrity spectacle in a lurid collage of glamour and shock.
