The Cat and the Canary

Poster of The Cat and the Canary

The play that startled the world becomes the greatest mystery special the screen has ever seen!

The Cat and the Canary (1927) follows a group of potential heirs who gather at the eerie, decaying estate of a recently deceased eccentric when the reading of his will promises fortune—if they survive the night. As shadows shift, hidden passageways creak, and a mysterious “cat” stalks the halls, laughter and terror intertwine in a whirlwind of suspense and surprise. This silent horror-comedy blends gothic atmosphere with playful thrills in a prototype of the “old dark house” genre.
