Chris Alexander

Chris Alexander is a Canadian filmmaker, writer, and editor best known for his influential role in modern horror journalism and independent genre cinema. Developing a deep interest in horror at an early age, he built a career that bridges criticism, publishing, and filmmaking. He rose to prominence as Editor-in-Chief of Fangoria from 2010 to 2016, guiding the iconic publication through a transitional era while championing both classic horror traditions and emerging underground voices.

Following his tenure at Fangoria, Chris expanded his creative work across multiple platforms. He became Editor-in-Chief of Delirium Magazine, a publication devoted to cult cinema and genre filmmaking, reinforcing his reputation as a passionate advocate for horror culture. In parallel, he developed a body of independent films under Chris Alexander Films, often marked by surreal imagery, practical effects, and strong stylistic influences drawn from European horror.

Beyond publishing and filmmaking, Chris remains active in the horror community through events and education. He is an operating partner in Horror-Rama, a Toronto-based convention dedicated to cult and horror cinema, and has collaborated with Full Moon Features and producer Charles Band. As an author with Headpress Publishing and an instructor affiliated with the Morbid Anatomy Museum, he continues to contribute to the study and celebration of horror through writing, lectures, and curated programming.
