Synopsis
Orphan (2009) follows a mother recovering from the loss of her unborn child who, along with her husband, adopts a nine-year-old girl from an orphanage. As the child integrates into the family, a series of violent incidents unfold and the mother begins to suspect deliberate manipulation behind the girl’s composed demeanor. This psychological horror develops mounting pressure and growing unease, revealing themes of grief, trust, and the instability of domestic life.
