Synopsis

Contamination (1980) follows a former astronaut drawn back into action after a deserted cargo ship drifts into New York Harbor carrying containers filled with explosive alien eggs. As the investigation traces the origin of the eggs to a South American coffee plantation and reveals a larger extraterrestrial plot, human agents fall under alien influence and violent outbreaks spread. This Italian-West German science fiction horror film blends body horror spectacle, conspiracy-driven investigation, and exploitation-style intensity in an examination of contamination, control, and the threat of unseen invasion.
