Murder – their religion!
Film Synopsis
The Stranglers of Bombay (1959) centers on a British East India Company officer who struggles to convince his superiors that a secret Thuggee cult is responsible for a growing number of disappearances across nineteenth-century India. As official indifference, political rivalry, and religious fanaticism obstruct the investigation, he risks his career and his life to expose the organisation before more innocent travellers are murdered. This British historical adventure horror film blends suspense, mystery, and period action as courage, fanaticism, and the abuse of power shape a grim account inspired by the historical Thuggee cult.
