Film Synopsis
The Oblong Box (1969) portrays a wealthy landowner who keeps his disfigured brother confined at their English estate while hiding the circumstances surrounding his condition. As the captive man plots his escape, secrecy and resentment give way to a growing threat that reaches beyond the family home. This British Gothic horror film builds its tale around confinement, vengeance, and buried guilt, with Gordon Hessler’s shadowy direction and Alister Williamson’s masked presence lending the story much of its menace.
