Night of the Demon (1957) centers on a skeptical American researcher who travels to England to expose the leader of a suspected occult cult linked to a series of mysterious deaths. As warnings involving ancient runes, curses, and demonic manifestations intensify around the investigation while additional victims fall prey to supernatural attacks, the professor’s rational worldview begins collapsing under the weight of increasingly undeniable evidence. This British supernatural horror film examines the conflict between reason and occult terror within a shadowy postwar landscape, as fear begins to overtake reason, with satanism, psychological dread, and supernatural vengeance.
