Apparitions? Evils? Corruptions?
Synopsis
The Innocents (1961) follows a young governess hired to care for two orphaned children at an isolated English country house where she begins to sense an unsettling presence. As strange sightings and disturbing behavior among the children deepen her fears, she becomes convinced that the estate is haunted by the spirits of former servants seeking influence over the children. This British psychological horror film blends Gothic atmosphere, ambiguity, and supernatural dread in a haunting exploration of innocence, repression, and possession.
