Them! (1954) follows a determined police sergeant who encounters a traumatized child and a trail of destruction in the New Mexico desert linked to an unknown force. As scientists and federal authorities join the investigation, giant mutated ants from atomic testing emerge as the source, and efforts intensify to contain their spread before they reach populated areas. This science fiction horror film blends procedural investigation, military response, and creature-feature spectacle in an examination of nuclear anxiety, collective threat, and the limits of human control.
