Film Synopsis
World Without End (1956) sends four astronauts returning from Mars through a time distortion to 26th-century Earth, devastated by atomic war. As they search for safety, they encounter mutated humanoids on the surface and descendants of humanity living in a subterranean city. This CinemaScope science-fiction adventure contrasts its rugged Technicolor wasteland with the enclosed order of an underground society, framing its time-travel premise through Cold War fears of atomic destruction.
