Film Synopsis
Captive Women (1952) depicts three tribes competing for survival in the ruins of New York City in the year 3000. When the ruthless Upriver Men conquer one settlement and women are taken during the ensuing conflict, a Mutate leader’s efforts to cross tribal divisions place him at the centre of the struggle. This post-apocalyptic science-fiction drama turns the subway ruins and wooded outskirts of New York into a primitive future framed by an explicit warning about nuclear destruction.
