Synopsis
The Turn of the Screw (1985) centers on a young tutor hired to care for two orphaned children at a remote estate following the deaths of their former caretakers. As unsettling behavior from the children, lingering memories of the deceased servants, and increasingly ambiguous supernatural experiences intensify throughout the household, he becomes consumed by uncertainty over whether he is witnessing genuine hauntings or the effects of psychological manipulation. This Spanish gothic psychological horror film examines repression and corrupted innocence within an atmosphere of mounting unease, as fear begins to overtake reason, with ghostly influence, sexual tension, and unreliable perception.
