Film Synopsis
The Mad Doctor of Market Street (1942) chronicles a ruthless physician whose pursuit of suspended animation forces him to flee the authorities after a deadly human experiment. Shipwrecked alongside a small group of survivors, he seizes an opportunity to resume his research by manipulating both the island’s inhabitants and his fellow castaways. Blending science fiction, horror, and survival adventure, the film examines scientific arrogance, the abuse of power, and the moral consequences of pursuing knowledge without restraint.

Edition and Packaging Notes
- Scream Factory’s Blu-ray is included in the “Universal Horror Collection, Volume 2” box set with Murders in the Zoo (1933), The Strange Case of Doctor Rx (1942) and The Mad Ghoul (1943); and contains a 12-page illustrated booklet.
- Umbrella’s Blu-ray contains no extras. It is included in the “Universal Horror: Monsters & Curiosities” box set. It contains a 100-page booklet and ten art cards.
- Universal’s DVD is also available in the “Universal Cult Horror Collection” box set with Murders in the Zoo (1933), The Strange Case of Doctor Rx (1942), The Mad Ghoul (1943) and House of Horrors (1946).
