Film Synopsis
Crescendo (1970) concerns a music student who travels to the south of France to research a deceased composer at the home of his widow and son. Her growing attachment to the younger man complicates her response to unexplained piano playing and unsettling behaviour that threaten her safety. This psychological thriller from Hammer Films uses the secluded household and recurring music to give an academic visit the atmosphere of a Gothic mystery.
