Synopsis
Le doulos (1962) centers on a career criminal newly released from prison who settles old scores before preparing an ambitious burglary. As suspicions surrounding a possible police informant, a robbery gone wrong, and a series of murders intensify while longtime friendships are tested by conflicting loyalties and hidden motives, he becomes trapped in a labyrinth of deception where no one can be trusted. This French crime film examines loyalty and betrayal within a tightly coded criminal world, as appearances prove increasingly deceptive, with underworld intrigue, police investigation, and shifting alliances.
