Suddenly the word is Alphaville… and a secret agent is in a breathless race against the Masters of the Future.
Alphaville (1965) follows a trench-coated secret agent who arrives in a stark, technocratic city governed by a cold supercomputer that has outlawed emotion, poetry, and free thought. As he navigates its antiseptic streets and forms a fragile connection with a woman raised within the system, he works to undermine the regime while confronting the cost of logic stripped of humanity. This science-fiction noir blends dystopian philosophy and hardboiled intrigue in a cool, minimalist meditation on love and resistance.
