King of the Paris underworld.
Touchez pas au grisbi (1954) follows an ageing Parisian gangster who, after pulling off a major gold-heist, hopes to retire comfortably but finds his plans unravel when loose talk and a rival crew thrust him back into the underworld. As threats escalate with the abduction of his partner and the looming demand for the stolen loot, he confronts loyalty and the fading codes of honour that once governed his life. This classic French crime drama blends cool, noir-tinged tension and reflective character study in a measured exploration of loyalty and consequence.
