Film Synopsis
The Shining (1980) focuses on a struggling writer who moves with his wife and young son into a vast hotel closed for the winter, hoping the solitude will provide time to complete his work. As snow cuts the family off from the outside world, disturbing visions, buried violence, and the building’s oppressive influence gradually erode his sanity and place those closest to him in mounting danger. Blending psychological horror, supernatural mystery, and domestic drama, the film examines isolation, family violence, and the instability of perception through a haunting descent into madness.
