Film Synopsis
The City of the Dead (1960) chronicles a college student who travels to the remote Massachusetts town of Whitewood to research its history of witchcraft. As she explores the fogbound community, its secretive inhabitants and ominous customs suggest that the beliefs she came to study remain dangerously alive. This British supernatural horror film transforms historical witchcraft into a continuing source of dread, creating an isolated world of occult ritual where the boundary between legend and reality gradually disappears.
