Synopsis
The Church (1989) follows a young librarian working at a Gothic cathedral built over the mass grave of villagers slaughtered in medieval times. As he investigates the church’s crypt and removes a mysterious seal, demonic forces trapped beneath the structure are released and the building becomes sealed, trapping those inside. This Italian supernatural horror film blends Gothic architecture, apocalyptic imagery, and demonic possession in a dark tale of buried evil returning to claim the living.
