Synopsis
The Black Cat (1941) focuses on an unsuspecting realtor who arrives at an isolated estate expecting a routine business transaction, only to find himself surrounded by relatives eager to inherit a vast fortune. As hidden passageways, conflicting motives, and a succession of unsettling events deepen the mystery, every member of the household becomes a potential suspect. Blending old dark house mystery, comedy, and horror, the film examines greed, deception, and suspicion through a light-hearted interpretation inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s short story.
