The knock at the door meant the birth of a man and the death of seven others.
Synopsis
Straw Dogs (1971) follows an intellectual who relocates to his wife’s Cornish hometown, where simmering resentments among village laborers turn confrontational. As harassment intensifies and a violent incident fractures the fragile peace, he is forced to defend his home and confront his own capacity for brutality. This psychological thriller blends rural tension and moral provocation in a harrowing study of masculinity and retribution.
