Film Synopsis
Next of Kin (1982) centers on a young woman who inherits a country mansion converted into a retirement home by her family. As strange events begin to echo incidents recorded years earlier in her late mother’s diaries, she investigates the house and the secrets surrounding her family’s past. This Australian psychological horror film combines old-dark-house mystery and slow-building suspense with an uneasy atmosphere that keeps supernatural and rational explanations tantalizingly unresolved.
