Film Synopsis
Not Quite Hollywood: The Wild, Untold Story of Ozploitation! (2008) explores the wave of Australian exploitation cinema that flourished during the 1970s and early 1980s. Through archival clips and interviews with actors, filmmakers, and other participants, it examines the sex, horror, action, and outrageous filmmaking that developed alongside the more respectable Australian film revival. This Australian documentary celebrates the ingenuity, excess, and rebellious energy of Ozploitation while reclaiming a frequently overlooked chapter of the country’s cinema history.
