Synopsis
Anguish (1987) follows an ophthalmologist’s assistant who is hypnotically controlled by his domineering mother to murder victims and collect their eyes. As his actions unfold within a film being screened at a theater, a viewer in the audience begins reenacting the killings in real time, turning spectators into targets. This horror film develops mounting pressure and growing unease, with control, spectatorship, and fractured reality shaping events.
