A Candle for the Devil (1973) centers on two middle-aged sisters who operate a small boarding house in a conservative Spanish town. This Spanish horror film examines repression and fanaticism within a society caught between tradition and modernity, as moral certainty gives way to violence, with religious obsession, murder, and psychological tension.
