Synopsis

Thomas and the Bewitched (1970) centers on a group of provincial actors preparing to stage a new play while grappling with jealousy, frustration, and personal insecurity. As a séance intended to calm their fears unexpectedly summons the child Thomas while rehearsals continue and tensions within the troupe intensify, his presence begins exposing the hidden desires and anxieties shaping their lives. This Italian psychological horror fantasy examines imagination and emotional repression within a surreal theatrical world, as reality and illusion become increasingly difficult to separate, with spiritualism, performance, and subconscious desire.
