Film Synopsis
The Prowler (1981) centers on college students preparing for their town’s first graduation dance since a young couple was murdered during the celebration 35 years earlier. As the festivities begin, a killer dressed in World War II military fatigues stalks the students, suggesting a disturbing connection between the past and the renewed violence. This slasher film combines a decades-old murder mystery with methodical stalking and graphic violence, distinguished by its grim atmosphere and unusually elaborate practical effects.
