Film Synopsis
The Mighty Peking Man (1977) portrays an adventurer recruited to locate a legendary giant ape after reports of the creature emerge from the Himalayan wilderness. As commercial interests, conflicting loyalties, and the bond between the ape and its human companion complicate the expedition, the pursuit gives way to escalating danger that reaches far beyond the mountains. Blending monster adventure, fantasy, and action spectacle, this Hong Kong creature feature examines humanity’s exploitation of nature, the corrosive influence of greed, and the tragic consequences of forcing the wild into captivity.
