Film Synopsis
The Beast Is Loose (1959) follows Paul Lamiani, a former gangster now running a restaurant and living a quiet family life, who is pulled back into service by the DST when his old friend is suspected of treason. As Paul becomes entangled in a web of deceit, counterfeit documents, kidnappings and betrayal, he is forced to confront both the state and criminals alike to protect his son and redeem his past. This brisk French espionage thriller blends noir-tinged action, moral ambiguity, and familial stakes against the backdrop of Cold-War-era secrets.
