Synopsis
The Ancines Woods (1970) follows a solitary traveling peddler in rural Galicia who suffers from epilepsy and lives on the margins of society. As rumors spread linking him to violent deaths and supernatural forces, he becomes increasingly isolated while fear and superstition intensify around him. This Spanish horror drama blends psychological realism, folk superstition, and social critique while examining alienation, repression, and the destructive power of myth.
