Synopsis
Beatriz (1976) follows a young girl living with her family in an isolated nineteenth-century mountain village when a wandering friar takes refuge in their home. As unexplained violence and supernatural rumors spread, she begins suffering hallucinations and disturbing changes that lead villagers to believe she is possessed. This Spanish-Mexican horror film blends folk superstition, religious fanaticism, and psychological ambiguity while examining innocence, repression, and fear of the unknown.
