A wealthy American widow retreats to her Italian villa for peace, but her solitude is shattered when a charming young man and his seductive “sister” arrive uninvited. As their influence over her deepens, reality unravels in a haze of manipulation, lust, and psychological torment. This provocative giallo thriller blends erotic tension, mind games, and mounting paranoia in a twisted tale of control and deception.

Like so many other gialli of the period, the film takes its inspiration from H.G. Clouzot’s classic Les Diaboliques (1955) and places more emphasis on the sexual and psychological head games used to manipulate its frail protagonist than on a high body count. … The film is a classic example of the so-called sexy giallo, with plenty of cool eroticism and a pleasantly “mod” aesthetic to help keep it moving through any plot deficiencies.

With its brazenly sexploitative original title, Orgasmo/Paranoia fittingly takes advantage of the relaxation of censorship in the late Sixties to show nudity and (implied) debauchery while revelling in the sadistic games on display.
