Synopsis
A Man Could Get Killed (1966) centers on an American bank executive who arrives in Lisbon only to discover he has been mistaken for the replacement of a murdered British intelligence agent. As rival spies, smugglers, and government operatives pursue a cache of stolen diamonds while his attempts to untangle the confusion place him in ever greater danger, he finds himself caught in a whirlwind of espionage, romance, and mistaken identity. This adventure comedy examines deception and chance within a world where ordinary people are swept into extraordinary circumstances, as Cold War intrigue, hidden agendas, and lighthearted humor combine through international espionage and comic misadventure.

A Man Could Get Killed is an entertaining comic romp, and not overly concerned with the ins and outs of the espionage trade … It’s all extremely lightweight but full of exotic sets, attractive girls, high-powered action and a healthy measure of humor. … With high production values ensuring that it is never less than a pleasure to look at, there’s really not much to dislike about the film.
