Synopsis
The President’s Analyst (1967) centers on a respected psychiatrist appointed to serve as the confidential analyst for the President of the United States. As the extraordinary demands of the job leave him increasingly paranoid and overwhelmed while government agencies, foreign spies, and other interested parties begin pursuing him after he abandons his post, he uncovers a far-reaching conspiracy with unexpected implications. This political satire examines privacy and power within a world shaped by Cold War anxieties and technological change, as bureaucratic absurdity and espionage intrigue converge, with secret agents, surveillance, and dark comedy.
