Dirty Angels

For much of the running-time, it would seem that this does not really belong to the giallo genre, per se, but it ultimately does fit into the category of the sexy gialli which proliferated in the late 1960s. … Director Mauro Severino definitely has his eyes on something more than the usual array of kinky thrills, but that is not to say that the film is pretentious or lacking in entertainment value. Quite the contrary, the film moves at a good pace and the characters are, if not exactly sympathetic, worthy of spending some time with. Viewers going in expecting something along the lines of, say, Orgasmo (1969) will surely be disappointed; but those with an adventurous streak who are willing to sit back and let the film take them on its own journey will likely have a good time. For a film that is ultimately rather cynical, it is surprisingly bouncy and light-hearted in its approach.
