Synopsis
The Queen of Black Magic (1981) follows a woman cast aside and accused of witchcraft by her former lover and villagers, who survives an attempted execution and is drawn into the study of black magic. As she gains power and begins to exact revenge on those who wronged her, fear spreads through the community and the consequences of her actions intensify beyond personal grievance. This Indonesian horror film blends supernatural revenge, folkloric elements, and escalating brutality in an examination of betrayal, retribution, and the corrupting pull of power.
