For a woman’s smile he sold his living soul!
Film Synopsis
The Informer (1935) concerns a former Irish rebel who informs on a wanted comrade, hoping the reward will provide an escape from poverty in 1922 Dublin. As he spends the money across the city, members of the republican underground investigate the betrayal and begin to question his story. This expressionist psychological drama turns its largely single-night passage through fogbound Dublin into a claustrophobic portrait of guilt and fear.
