Film Synopsis
Sergeant Rutledge (1960) centers on a respected First Sergeant in the U.S. Cavalry who is court-martialed after being accused of murder and assault. As testimony and flashbacks reconstruct the events surrounding the charges, prejudice, conflicting loyalties, and the search for truth place both his character and military service under intense scrutiny. This Western blends courtroom drama with frontier storytelling, exploring justice, racial prejudice, honor, and personal integrity through the experiences of a Buffalo Soldier.
