1,500 miles of heroism and incredible adventure!
Film Synopsis
Cheyenne Autumn (1964) portrays a Northern Cheyenne community that leaves a barren Oklahoma reservation in the late 1870s and begins a 1,500-mile journey home. A Quaker schoolteacher accompanies the travellers while a reluctant Cavalry captain receives orders to track them across the plains. This revisionist epic Western frames forced displacement on a monumental scale, contrasting the community’s ordeal with the vast landscapes of the American Southwest.
