Film Synopsis
The House in the Woods (1957) centers on a writer struggling with his work who moves with his wife to a secluded country cottage in search of peace and quiet. As inconsistencies emerge in their landlord’s story, his suspicions deepen while elements of the murder mystery he is writing begin to echo events around him. This British mystery thriller combines an isolated woodland setting, psychological tension, and mounting suspicion in a compact tale of domestic menace.
