Film Synopsis

The House Across the Lake (1954) follows a struggling American novelist who moves to a lakeside village seeking inspiration and befriends a wealthy couple living across the water. As he begins an affair with the man’s wife, he becomes entangled in her plan to eliminate her husband and conceal the crime. This British crime thriller blends noir fatalism, psychological manipulation, and moral ambiguity while examining lust, betrayal, and complicity.
