Bloodcurdling!
Synopsis
The Horrible Sexy Vampire (1971) follows a young heir who moves into his ancestral castle in Germany just as a series of brutal murders grips the surrounding region, believed by locals to be the work of his long-dead vampire forebear. As a stubborn police inspector and the heir investigate the grisly deaths, eerie signs of the undead and lurid deaths among isolated victims escalate tension within the crumbling estate. This Spanish-German horror blends gothic menace and exploitation excess in a decadent vampire tale of legacy and violence.
Criticism
-
Cue lots of repetitious attacks on naked women that aren’t the least bit sexy and the lacklustre chills from hollow laughter echoing through the corridors that aren’t remotely horrible.
